59 Upgrade help

I just picked up a 59 stepside. Sitting for 20yrs so brakes are shot. All original except metal floor in bed. 292 3spd. I would like to upgrade & have found some part info on disc brake conversion. I dont want to buy a kit! I have even tossed around the idea of converting to 4wd. What I havent found (limited internet time) is what power master cylinder will bolt in. I thought one day I read that there was one that was a direct bolt in but cannot find the post now. Someone suggested a ranger m/c. Can anyone help me out? Please :-)

Thx! I think I found where u posted this on another thread just minutes ago. Im having to search from my phone so it is a slow go for info. Do you have the rotor, bearing, caliper, & hose info? I have found some info here but would like to confirm. I see u have a f350 so your will be different.

I am staying with the drum brake that are on the truck, just wanted to add power. The guy at the site is quite helpful.

If you are staying with the drums and just want power you might want to check out a hydro-vac unit like the bigger trucks used. I had a 57 F-350 with one and it was the best brakes of any vehicle I have ever owned, and with stock drums. The unit mounts remotely.
