Rear Shocks 47 half ton

Got the bed off and need to order some new shocks... any part numbers or shock replacement suggestions?

Well you are already way ahead in that you already have tube shocks. Stock for these were Houdaille shocks, the tube shocks ride much nicer. You can remove one of those shocks and take it to your NAPA. Using the old shock the parts counter guy, or girl, should be able to match one up. That's what I did on my '46 when I converted the front to tube shocks. They can get pretty close using the compressed and extended dimensions.

If I read my book right, '47 was the first year you could get tube shocks stock. 59T-18008/18009 is the old part number. Any tube shock that is the same length or diameter will work though.
