I have just installed my dp tuner and my egt guage is ahorted out and my replacement sensor didnt arrive today. i have to tow a zr1 about 200 miles in the morning up a small hill. I have 60 tow in my dt tuner with stock and 80 e i wanted to tow with 60 tow but alittle worried after watching some egt spike in some youtube videos. if i drive in 60 tow what should i not do while towing. the trailer is a open aluminum trailer with a zr1 whick weight about 3100 pounds thanks just worried about my motor.
What they said. Low RPMs may seem better because your engine is going slower, but that just means that less air is being moved around. Fuel is still being sent. Higher RPMs will keep you cool(er).
Mine "lugs" under load at about 1500 RPM. I don't know what the speed limit is in Virginia, but I'd be surprised if you have any hills as steep as where I tow my sail boat in 80t. Just keep the RPMs above 1700 and you should be in good shape, as long as your truck is mechanically sound.
