Video on removing passenger side oil rail

Just wanted to post this with some tags so I could find it later...

I needed to pull and replace the stand pipe and dummy plug on the passenger side of my 2004 F250 (late build) to fix a warm, no start condition due to a leak I suspect is in one of the D-rings. Pulling the valve cover entails just removing the hot side tube, the glow plug module, and the ICP sensor and moving the harness out of the way (ICP and glow plug harness).

Sr. Master Tech has a great 4 part series on removing injectors on both passenger and driver's side here --> 6.0 Liter Ford Powerstroke Injector Replacement, part I - YouTube

My truck's clearance between the oil rail and the evaporator housing was too tight to remove the bottom two oil rail bolts. So, I removed the evaporator cover to give me more clearance. Maybe there is a way to loosen and remove the bolts without doing this, but I'm not sure the stand pipe would come out if you didn't remove the cover.

Here's the video I shot to document the procedure.

Great video Alan! I have my new standpipes/dummy plugs on the bench so this task is in my future. Props for getting all the way through the explanation without a cut in the video also.

Thanks, it's funny that I always dread it before getting started on this stuff, but once you get going - it's fun... Tomorrow driver's side and I'm hoping no more warm/hot no starts...
