Would anyone know the secret to unlocking the SONY jukebox so you can see the files in there with a USB cable hooked to a laptop? I have a male-male cable and plugged my pc into the USB port, hoping to see the contents (like a digital camera) but nothing...it probably needs a command sequence of buttons pushed first (like for programming a door key).

I recorded some borrowed CDs to the jukebox, no longer have the originals and would like to extract a copy for the house. Surely its just a Microsoft file system in there with the music stored in a subdirectory somewhere, but they locked the front door so you can't F with it and inadvertently delete a system file?

 

The Jukebox is acting as a USB host... and it's expecting to find a USB mass storage device (like a thumbdrive) on the port. You've plugged it into another USB host... that's not going to work.

 

so any ideas on how to get the music files out of it? Tried the second USB port in the back under the dash speaker but no luck either.
Surely they didn't build a unit with no export/backup capability? How stupid is that?
