Do you think this will work (interior flooring)?

Instead of getting the vinyl floor mat from Stock Interiors and elsewhere which would cost over $200...I was thinking about an idea I got from Edgethis. He has a truck bed mat that runs from the back of his bronco to under his front seats. I possibly would need two mats ($65 + tax/each at Tractor Supply) which would cost me somewhere around $150 in the end vs $200+ for the vinyl.

The thing is, I want to do my whole flooring like this (front foot area, etc)....I am wondering do yall think it will work?

I know it will be thicker than that vinyl floor mat too..

What do yall think?

I am pretty sure i know what your talking about with the material, have a local farming place that has big rolls of differing thicknesses. It would be a good idea but the issues would come down to contouring it to all the different angles. Plus cutting out for the fenderwells in the back. I'm sure you know of this though so thats about all i can offer

sawzall + rubber matting = fun stuff. Make sure you make a video of it I have a strange feeling it will bind up and someone will get hurt.

Yep you have to ask if the moulded contouring already present in the actual floor matting is worth the extra $50. Is your time and effort spent fabricating a custom mat worth $50 or will it take longer and not appear as clean? $50 doesn't go far when it comes to what my time is worth these days. Just my $0.02

What would you do my friend?

Heard the company Stock Interior vinyl floor mats is only a one layer piece (where the driver floor mat is)

Bad *** haha , i wonder if you could heat up the rubber to help contour it? Other than that i guess you will be investing in a lot of super glue.

As for GS, i understand what you mean but Mafred makes a good point. For $150 if he can cover the entire floor vs $200 for just the front the custom mat is better. Plus it could be a fun project.

My concern here would be the lack of sound and heat insulation with a rubber mat only.
I would not hesitate to go with the pre-moulded AND insulated vinyl flooring.

$400 on LMC http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/FC/full.aspx?Page=104
$305 on JBG http://broncograveyard.com/bronco/i-...ver-black.html

My truck is probably different but anywho i don't have any sort of insulation. I got some crappy "all weather" carpet that falls apart if you touch it... Mine seems fine enough.

What would I do? Can I get back to you on this one? I only ask because I am in the midst of researching this same project.

Yeah i don't like it much but i don't mind carpet as long as i have rubber floor mats. I wouldn't mind putting in a nice original fluffy carpet in but for the sake of easy to cleanliness i wouldn't mind vinyl/rubber.

Thats not a bad idea, do the vinyl up to the step for the back seat then just use a large flat pad of rubber truck mat for the rest. That seems pretty easy actually.
