UPDATE 01.10.13

Hey ya'll, its defenetly been too long. Have got quite abit done. Front ends back together

Got the engine bay cleaned up, Valve covers painted with air cleaner on...

Got the rest of the rear frame coated with Asphalt rubberized under coating, headliner panel thing in, not actual vinyal. all that's left to do is:

- Installation of AUX Fuel tank, restoring the original straps as we speak, will get pics
- Need to get new brake lines. I've chosen to go with Stainless Steel and am most likely taking my old ones to Classic Tube (classictube.com) to get new SS bent
- Run new fuel lines and hoses
- Get the drive shaft shortened
- New E-Brake ****

That's about all for now. If anyone has any info or pictures of the original jacking equipment that came with these trucks, please share. I;ve got my original jack, but nothing else.... feel as though im missing something... Probubly my mind if I look hard enough... or the cash that WAS in my wallet...

sorry got my answer dana 60 if you are going to use those rims you will need adaptors to make them work they are ment for flat nuts/washers that center the wheel on the hub [newer trucks] the drum you have will require the old style wheels that take the acorn style of nut also they are NOT interchangeable!! the wheels/nuts will most likely loosen up and come off I am doing a conversion also on my 79 f350 s/c camper unit[dana 70] and it took me all most a year to find the factory parts after much research and thanks to this site and privateer from Calgary I got all the factory rims, drums, rotors w/hat to get the project started regards joe

Stage 2: Aquire an IDI: COMPLETE!!

Hey yall, proud to announce that ive got myself an IDI... FINALLY!!

Trucks an 89' F-250 XL. im the second owner of this 547,145km gem! Elderly couple I bought it off of ordered it brand new with all kinds of bells and whistles. 7.3l IDI that runs great backed with a close ratio ZF-5 (1st is SO low) I never knew you could get Cruise Control with a standard.

here are some more pics:

Notice the ol' man running boards... they're comin off this weekend

Cab corners are rust free, oil sprayed every year, hauled RV everywhere. There's practically no rust on it other then the box has it around the wheel wells. Needed a brake line, easy fix.

Has a Banks Air intake lid and a Banks exhaust..... that needs to be replaced as its rotten. Black stuff u see is old belt dressing. I plan on powerwashing the front end in the spring when I do the coolant and coolant filter. Its got a small hole in the drivers side floor, but only the outer panel. Rockers are good, bottom of doors are good... Thing runs like a top! Got it for a good deal too.

Congrats man! That's almost exactly the IDI I had. Granted, mine was a 6.9 and two tone. You'll love it. Aside from the lack of turbo that makes hill pulls difficult with heavy trailer, you can pull damn near anything.

If it hasn't already, it'll grow on you. The zf5 is a nice trans, and having cruise control is a nice feature.
