Too paint or not to paint
I will be selling/trading in my 01 ranger 3 liter in a few months. The passenger rear body panel is losing Clearcoat and is the only place it is happening. Should I repair it? If so should i get it totally repainted or just sand off the clear coat and redo that?
Anybody have any guess at a price at a real body shop, not a macco crappy job.

Being honest if your selling price somewhat reflects the peeling CC condition I'd let the new owner deal with it. Chances are any money you spend won't increase the selling price being its an '01---such minor things would be expected.
Macco can do good work but since they're known for being the low ball guys you do get what you pay for.

Agreed. Also, from a buyer's standpoint, I'm often suspicious of fresh paint jobs. You never know what's hiding under them. If the body is straight and there's no bondo in your truck, be proud and show it off. I'd rather buy a truck with an imperfect original finish than a refinished truck any day.

Just the peeling Clearcoat
Just the Clearcoat is going, no rust, clean body, just need to shampoo and clean the interior. My dad wants it and said he would give kbb price for it, but he seems to think that is 2000, I said 3000. Fair condition in about 4000. So I am going trade in if they offer me 4k
