68 to 71 cab swap(wiring help)
Hey everyone,I am in the process of finishing up my cab swap,I put a cab from a 71 F250 Camper Special on a 68 F250 4x4.
My first problem is the headlight wires, they seem to have a 4 prong plug to connect the wires from the cab to the headlight harness(the headlight harness was missing from the 71 when I got it). My 68 was wired directly,no plug.It seems that the colors aren't the same from truck to truck.Does anybody know if Ford changed the wire colors and what wires cross over?
Also, the 3 wires that go from the cab to the coil, oil and water senders has a plug on the 71(it was also missing on the 71 when I got it) but my 68 didn't.The wire colors also don't match up,which wires go where??
I also noticed that the alt harness on the 71 has 2 plugs with different colored wires where my 68 had no plug.
I hope someone can point me in the right direction on what wires goes where.Anybody have a link to some wire diagrams from the 2 trucks?
TIA,John

If you can read a schematic this will help.......http://www.fordification.com/tech/wi...-70_master.jpg
The easiest way to get your headlights working is to find the correct pigtails but if you want to get brighter headlights, this would be the route to go now.....Whiter Whites, Brighter Brights .: Articles
