been doing the research on other ford sites and found a maker of roller rockers called Miller. The "founder" of mid lift technology and rocker geometry and set up. Seems to have done a lot for the 429-460 boys. Anyone heard of him and his product? Thoughts?

I've been following this thread because I'm looking at rockers, too. I ordered some Crane long-slot stamped steel rockers because I had concerns about how the rollers would handle the side thrust from pushrod angles. I remember hearing about how a Cleveland engine had a ticking rocker because the rocker was sliding side-to-side and banging the circlips. That's not good!

I figure that the sled fulcrum together with the slotted pedestal holds the rocker in proper geometry and alignment.

Fair enough, but from what old mate Miller says, who says that the factory got it right to begin with?
I can understand his philosophy re:angles and positioning on the valve 90º etc. etc. but still sceptical that he was the only one to have the scales fall from his eyes about the whole thing. The conspiracy theorist in me gets it especially if lots of money is involved, but anyone with a better grasp of valve train geometry can feel free to change my mind-nothing locked in yet. LOL
If the engine you have is standard I would probably agree with standard type rockers-but I have rebuilt my engine and I think if I put enough thought/time into it a decent set of roller rockers will be worth the effort. I am under no illusions that I will have to monkey about a bit.

No, not a standard engine. Not a rebuild, either. Piecing it together. I'm leaning toward a roller cam, so that's a factor.

mmm roller cam. Bit of money, but a good thing none-the-less. If you are going roller bottom, full roller top would have to be worth a shot.

Comp sells a roller cam that uses Ford roller lifter hardware (lifters, H-bars and spider). Seems like a pretty good bang-for-buck deal. I'd need a custom cam anyway.

Think I've seen those come out recently. Comp hasnt done them that long I think. You can buy the spider and lifter assembly seperately and then you source any other roller cam.
