I am looking at a parts truck. It is a '99 F450 with the 7.3 engine. The transfer case grenaded itself and in the process the front driveshaft took out the transmission case. The airbag also deployed. I would like to hear the truck run but it will not crank. I didnt have time or tools to check the obvious (battery voltage, solenoid and power to starter). Is there a safety like on a gas vehicle that the fuel pump is cut off when the airbag goes off?

 

Yes, there is an enertia switch in the passenger side kick panel...you can reach in through the hole and reset the switch. However, the engine will still crank with a tripped switch...it just won't start.
