93 F250 Dana 60 swap thread

So my old Dana 50 is getting pretty loose up front so I decided to throw a d60 at it. The trucks my pride and joy, being my first truck which I put the engine in and we've been through alot together. I went to PA and bought the axle from dieselbrad(his trucks are insanely nice) in the spring time and have been workin on getting it ready to put in since. I bought new moog ball joints, new bushings for everything, all new tierods, seals, u joints, cover and bolts. I still have to buy 4 new shocks, steering stabalizer, spindle studs, new front leaf springs and paint some stuff. Im 19 and make 10 bucks an hour so getting all the stuff is taking awhile but im getting there. Ive also been searching the u pull it junkyard for rare d60 parts to sell, ive sold like 4 driver side u bolt brackets and a couple track bars and brackets. Some people make it easy for me cause they take the axle and leave the brackets laying on the ground haha. Ill have lots of pics ill be posting up too. Any comments welcome, i still have lots to learn......Rich

Ill have pics up in a couple mins

No need for spindle nuts. You can reuse your D50 ones

33" s will fit fine, I ran 35" s with no problem. I didn't start rubbing until I went to 38.5" super swampers. I did the Sas on my 94, great upgrade. I had to fabricate a bottom u bolt plate for mine tho.

I'm going to be bringing home a 1996 F350 parts truck as well as some other miscellaneous parts soon to make some improvements to my 1997 F350 Powerstroke. I am getting the truck at a good enough price that I can afford to take what I need, scrap it and recoup most of my money after I sell the axle to another member of this forum. I'm in the Capital District and probably not too far from you. If you can think of any parts that you need drop me a line in the next couple of weeks while I'm taking out what I need before I scrap what I'm not using. Good luck with your project. I also have to replace the ball joints and drag link on my F350 that I just picked up and decided to just replace most of the steering components while I'm at it, so I feel your pain. I'm fortunate enough that my 1997 is a secondary/ work truck that I'm just turning into a nicer truck bit by bit while I've got the extra time and money so I can take my time. Good luck and have fun.

33s will most likely rub

My 96 had 33s and I had to shim AND trim the bumper for them to clear.
I cant think of any of my frends that ran 33s that didnt have to trim/shim as well

parts

Sounds good if u haven't bought your front springs yet a set from a older superduty truck with a monobeam axle will bolt right up.I have a set on a 92 f350 with 3.5 inch blocks in the rear running 37.5 hummer tires on it .I got my springs for $50 then changed the bushings.
