I stripped mine to the bare aluminium using aircraft remover. It can be bought at Walmart. Just spray it on wait around 15the minutes and wash off. It may take a couple of cans to do the truck.

No i didnt. I did take the weights off the wheels i marked the wheels with a paint pen. That way i can put them in the same place.

Not to hijack, but what is does everyone think about clear coating vs repeated polishing?

Is it worth the time to strip and reclear every few years or repolish every few weeks? I'm in the northeast so road salt is a big factor for me.
