1947 Ford Pickup Questions

I have a 1947 Ford Pickup. Vin # 71GC378579 License Plate# 37931T
Is it a 1947 1/2 Ton?
Is it a F1 or F100?

Engine serial # T1118CPL
Can some one give me info on the Engine, I think its a Chevy Engine.

How much is the truck worth?

If you can give me more information about the truck it would be very useful.
See Pictures on 47 Ford Pickup Album
My father purchased it in 1995 but he passed away in 2005 and I want to sell it.

The VIN tells us that this truck was originally a 6 cylinder, its a half ton, and its neither a F1 or F100, those did not exist until the '48 model year, basically, you would just call yours a pickup. As far as the engine goes, with that number I don't know, pix would be best way to id it.
Oh, and welcome to FTE, hope we can provide the help you need with the truck

Thank you for the info. I put a pic of the engine on the 1947 Ford Pickup Album. From what I remember the man who sold the pickup to my dad had told him it was a chevy engine. I looked it up and it says its either a 305 or 267.

Ive looked at other 47 Ford trucks for sale that look just like mine and they claim to be a F1.

Is my truck a 1947 or 1937. Its confusing because the bin has 37 in it and so does the license plate.

Google a pic of a 37, then a pic of a 47, you should be able to tell than.

From what I see from the s/n, it looks like you've got a '47 alright. 71GC designates a '47 pickup with a 6 cylinder engine (I'm fairly certain). My own truck is a 79C which is a pickup with 59A v-8.

For sure you have a '47, not a '37. The license plate you mention, if it's from the state the truck is registered in, would not tell you the year of the truck from the numbers. As for the F1 designation, those who are calling any '47 or older Ford truck an F series is calling them by the wrong term, the first F Series was the 1948 model trucks. It's a common mistake, however, to call these F Series.
