Need Model number on F250 Radio and aftermarket questions
I have a 2006 F250 Lariat that I am needing the radio model number on. I bought my truck used and it had an after market radio put it. After having the truck broken into twice trying to steal it, I am putting it back to stock.
A few questions:
What is the 2006 F250 Lariat radio model number?
There is currently a sub in the truck... will the stock radio run the sub, speakers and amp?
I have found 2 radios. 1 with a amp and sub plugin and the other without... if I can run the sub, speakers and amp from the radio... do I need to get the one with the extra plugins?
Thanks,
Brandon

the numbers you're looking for start with 6c3t, for an F250 radio.
ANY radio that looks like the stocker will be PLUG compatible.
The differences come in with the mounting ears.
Only units from an F250/350 or a Focus will have the ears in the right place.
You'll have to get creative to get the mounts in the right place with the other radios. As I recall, the brackets are such that only one screw in each ear (there are supposed to be two) lines up correctly.
Also note that while the audio wiring will match up, the brightness and speed signal may be on different pins, so the radio won't dim properly when you turn on the headlights, and the speed-sensitive volume won't work. the speaker and power wires will be correct, though.
You'll probably have to do some shopping in the Metra catalog to find the right adapters.
