Belt tensioner

My belt came off on my way to work last night.
Looking at this morning I manage to get the belt off and noticed the top pully of the tensioner was busted and coming out.
There is 2 little pully's on it.
Does that part come off as a whole?
How do I replace it?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Not sure how yours is made since they changed styles around 94 if I recall reading correctly, but the original style had a spring you could see but then they changed it to an internal spring type.

The pully alone can be replaced or you can replace the entire tensioner assembly, depending on what needs fixing. Check out this link to see both styles. Also, at least on my year truck and with the open spring design, you can substitute an idler pully if you only need replace the tensioner pully and not the whole tensioner assembly and you will be using metal rather than plastic.

Yes its the spring type.
I removed the top and bottom pullys and it just popped out.
The plastic bushing I'm guessing is what is busted up.
I pulled it out and I'm left with a shaft that comes from the center.
The end looks chewed up maybe something missing..
What is it?
Can I remove it easily?

Just shredded a belt last night as well. Tensioner looks fine there is a tiny bit of axial play in the tensioner. What is acceptable?

Ok that shaft was the broken pc from the tensioner.
13mm socket got it out.
Replaced it this morning and re-installed the belt.
All good now.
Thanks for the help!
