Arrow 2012 F250 SuperDuty 6.2L 4.30 -- Ordered

Hi all,

Ok...on 02/22/2012...I placed an order with local dealer for a 2012 F250 SD CC 156" 6.2L 4.30 Lariat...with all the options I wanted!

Spoke with sales guy this morning...and still no VIN has been assigned. Ok...we are on 16 days...with no VIN...so I asked if they really did order the truck...and YES...it is in there.

I thought the VIN was assigned pretty quickly? Yes...No??? Now I'm all confused...

Seeking your experiences...with the order process...

Thanks!

No help there since I took mine off the lot. Regardless, congrats on the truck.

Didn't know you ordered! Glad to have you aboard.

My vin took 2 months to get assigned. Ask your dealer what priority they entered it at. While you're at it, get a copy of the DORA and confirm everything with the 2012 order guide so you know the dealer got you the right "stuff".

My VIN was generated about 4 weeks after I placed my order, took 6 weeks to receive my truck. My dealer said VIN's are assigned the Thursday night before your build week. Hope this helps. These trucks are totally worth the wait!!

I ordered my truck on 2-1-12 and dealer just received the VIN on 3-7-12. She said my truck should show up in 3 more weeks.

That truck sounds great, congrats!
My VIN was assigned in less than a week after I ordered. From the day I ordered to the day it arrived at the dealer was a month. I was lucky.....

Biz4Two;
I ordered my first F350KR 6.2 at a small dealership in Oct 2011, they said after 4 weeks it'll take 14 weeks total. I cancelled it. I re-ordered at a larger dealer Feb 27, got the Vin last week and expect truck 1st week of April. Dealer Allocation and etc will make a huge difference in the order time.....
Also once you get the Vin it won't show up in Ford's order system till 4-6 days before the truck actually rolls down the line. Like you I can't wait. bob

DORA code #10 is not good. It's a scale of 1-10, 1 is the highest priority.

10 is actually fine. I wanted to make sure they didn't give it a 99 or something similar. in my case, my dealer had allocation but didn't know why it wasn't getting picked up. They called the local Ford rep and got it escalated to a1. The moment that happened, i got my vin and 4 weeks later i was driving off in it.
