From my understanding, the following is counted at idle time with the engine running -

In park - regardless of rpm
and
Slow speeds with low rpm - I've heard under 25 mph/1500 rpms but I can't say for sure.

There may be even more that counted as idle time.

I would do the same for my dogs; I have an english bulldog that gets hot fast and has trouble cooling down in hot weather.

I recent came across a product called "Kool Collar" and it's made a huge difference for my boy, may want pick one up:

May have been covered but has anyone seen or heard of putting a window unit in the bed with a generator and ducting into the back sliding window? I want to experiment with this as I have both generators and window units and I stay on locations for extended periods of time and need the a/c. Have been idleing the 7.3 with no problems but probably can't/don't want to (until I delete the muffler plug) with the new beast.

sgrol, an A/C unit in the sliding window..I love it. Might rust up the bed where condensation would drip. If you have both a Gen and an AC unit..DO IT! Take pix and post them on the Forum or IT DIDN'T HAPPEN. It finally cooled down where I live. Had the A/C on a lot recently and on max AC it gets cold (98 outside) idling, so do the seats on AC. I saw a self contained AC that plugged into the cig lighter on ebay some time back, I just don't think that would work as good as the trucks.

So, the 7.3 probably produces a lot more crap than the choked up 6.7 yet doesn't seem to suffer any ill effects in doing so (other than killing trees and causing earthquakes and cancer in Kalifornia).
I remembered about this thread today while running SEIC.
I didn't count exact time but at 1,400 RPM idle the counter increases by 0.01 soot GPL every 1-2 minutes.

Surly wetstacking would be would be greatly reduced with the high line pressure that these pumps produce?
