What is the tow rating on the 2000 V10 6.8L 2wd Excursion?
I looked at the sticker on the driver door and I'm obviously not good at reading that bullcrap cause I couldn't figure it out. I know my hitch says it's rated for 10k but I was curious of the actual vehicle tow rating.
And how much can your whole rig (truck, camper, accessories) weigh without having to get a special license?
Do you have to stop at weigh stations when towing a camper?

Yes. There were past threads with photos showing the difference.
To the OP, I don't think you need to get it weighed. I never stopped and have never been cited. Not sure if that is true for all 50 states. Check rv.net and someone would guide you.

In Pa. If your trailer is tagged gross weight at 10001 lbs or more you need a combination weight class sticker. Depending on the weight it is tagged reflects the price. My dad has a 5th wheel he pulls and his run $455 a year. If the rig is grossed more than 26k you need an class A liscence.
The loophole... My trailer was registered at 11060 lbs in 2011. The 2012,2013 models are registered at 9900 lbs. all years have the same dry weight and no structural changes. Confirmed by manufacture. When it was time for me to renew my tags I changed my gross weight to 10,000 lbs. this keeps me from having to get the combo sticker and greatly reduces the cost of tags.
Keep in mind that every state is differant so call your local notary and DMV.
