yes, you can just put a jumper between the right pins (don't remember off the top of my head which ones, i just google it when i need to know).
you also could drive it to your local parts store and borrow their code scanner, most stores have one that will work for you if you just tell them its for a 93 ford

Ok, I figured out how to read the code, but now I am stumped. I was expecting a 2 or 3 digit code(s) followed by a pause of about 5 seconds. Instead I got a BUNCH of numbers, with no dicernable pause to let me know where one code started, and where one ended.
basically, there was a bunch of "1's" followed by, 1 7 9 3 3 4 1 7 9 3 3 4 or something like that. (pattern of 179 and 334 I guess) They were coming so fast, I had a hard time writing them down and then looking up in time to count the next set.
From my research it sounds like it could be a bad/dirty egr valve? Thanks,
Brew
