1978 F-150 Bed Replacement

I don't think any F-250 or F-350 beds would work.
IIRC All F-250's had a 133" wheelbase (long bed) and all F-350's were all long bed with either a 133" or 140" wheelbase.
The OP has a 117" wheelbase which is a short wheelbase truck.

Thanks that is what I was needing to know. I have found and F100 that has a good donor bed, just wanted to make sure the F100 and F150 would swap they do have the same WB of 117 for a short bed. This is my first ground up rebuild of a F-150.
The f-250 and F-350 has a 133 WB and would not work unless fabbed the bed.

Short Styleside beds will also be found on F100/350 Super Cabs & F250/350 Crew Cabs.
Left quarter panel (bedside): 1973/76 Stylesides have exposed fuel cap(s), while 1977/79 Stylesides have the fuel cap(s) behind doors.

Yes but you will need to get the correct fuel filler neck for the truck bed. Since Number Dummy already posted the differences in the bed side from 73-76 compared to the 77-79 beds. The filler necks were also changed to match the differences in the bedsides. But yes they will bolt right on. As the mounting points are the same.

Any 1973-79 F100/F150 bed will work but there are a couple of differences. In 1977, the gas fillers had doors put onto them instead of the external screw on caps. Bed will still work but you'll also need the gas filler pipes to match. Secondly, many of the 1978-79s and some '77s had a difference in exterior trim compared to the 1973-76s. New exterior trim to match is expensive.
