how was it dealing with them? i am also in the market for a diesel and was looking at these guys.. i'm in maryland.

I got the truck inspected by Power Stroke Enginutities (http://www.psehouston.com/). They were extremely easy to deal with. They let me know that there was substantial rust on the under body framework of the truck and that the truck had some ball joint issues. I decided not to buy this truck, and my search will continue. I saw an F350 6.0L that had approx 50k miles on it. I know that I need to look out for the bolts vs. studs on these models and I am about to read that section here on the forum to try and educate myself a little bit more about them.


Texas Auto Direct is extremely easy to deal with. I put a $500.00 deposit down with a credit card to hold the truck. Then, I got the truck inspected. Since the truck failed the inspection, I will get my deposit back. I just have to e-mail them a copy of the inspection. I purchased a 2007 Honda Accord with 22k miles from them 2 years ago very easy transaction. Also, they were approx. 3-4k cheaper than local dealers for me. I would recommend buying from them.

Thanks, that is good to know. As stated, next truck will probably come from them, and they are 6 hours away.

 

One thing I noticed on the truck is that it is claimed to have no accidents, but the airbag on the steering wheel is incorrect for the model year. It has the 99-01 airbag with the colorless engraved Ford emblem. The 02-04 airbag has a color Ford emblem attached to the cover that always gets bent.

It needed new ball joints. Also there was substantial rust on the underbody part of the frame that had been previously sprayed with rhino liner.
