Cruise control problem

The cruise control on my 99 sd is not working. It didn't have cruise on my truck before. I installed a new oem clock spring a used oem steering wheel on my truck. Any ideas on what could be wrong? there is no light that shows up when the on button is pressed.

Do you mean you are trying to add cruise to a truck that didn't have it or did have it and it quit working??

One leg of your brake switch has do do with cruise. My 2000 had a problem were my brake lights worked but the cruise didn't. Took the switch apart and cleaned it. Cruise came back.

I assume this is on the 7.3 in the sig? For some reason I didn't think the 99's had the bulb in the dash to light the cruise control light IIRC. Also with a 6 speed, you need to make sure the Clutch Pedal Position Sensor is working correctly.

The cruise control on a 7.3 DI is entirely a function of the PCM. If it didn't come with cruise, it's possible the PCM is not programmed for cruise functions. It's also very unlikely anyone is going to be able to re-program it.

On a 99 the pcm doesn't have to be reprogrammed. I have found that out
