t-18 short throw shifter?

Does anyone know if there is a shift kit you can buy to shorten up the throw on a T-18 tranny? It seems like it takes forever to get shifted from gear to gear. Thanks.

No such thing.

Chances are, your shifter is worn.

A new one might help if so.

Years ago I had a '66 Chev (I know, I know traitor am I) Malibu.

...and the P.O. had cut the shifter down to 5 inches to accomodate quicker shifts when racing. The standard floor shifter was about 14 inches above the floor and while it did shift quicker there was so little leverage that occasionally it'd get stuck in reverse.
