Nice project! Thanks for sharing, especially all the details on the products you're using and how you've applied them. You are doing one hell of a job.

How has the paint been holding up so far? Anything scratching easy? I painted the inside of my 95 just as a test run and i had half the parts come out great and the other half the paint is scratching off so im going to try the adhesion promoter you used next.

I made some mistakes the paint is holding up fine but then again its not getting used much. it has scratched off in some spots where the seats rubbs but i also attribute that to the can method not laying down a thick enough layer and the paint being more for vinyl than plastic. also when the factory paints these pieces like the dash which is painted it has a thick layer.

Definitely use the adhesion promote.
if i were to do it again i would change the paint i used
i would try SEM or Color Bond instead which is made specifically just for that
the duplicolor is fantastic on Vinyl for sure, i sprayed the old seat covers and it was like it soaked the color into the material. with these plastic pieces some are the hard plastic that can snap( those tend to be painted so be carefull with your prep it will melt off old paint and make a mess) and others plastic like the kick panels are the more flexible type. I would go COLOR BOND this time around

Good to know, thanks. I used color bond for my 95 and on my 08 console and it has held up great on the console hasn't even rubbed off and i just did 3 average coats. I would like to find the Ford Harley black from color bond but i couldn't figure it out so i went with a different ford black and its not quite what i was looking for but it still looks great i think i went with color code 357 i would have to check.

Hey Dilan, been following this thread, truck looks great! Curious if you ever got the seat heaters working (now that it is winter) and what you did for a center console. Getting ready to build a custom console for my '00 crew cab.
