V-10 Intake Mani Gaskets

I think I'm due again. I had them replaced in a shop 3 years ago and am having the same rough idle, p0300 - multiple cylinder misfires. I did the fuel filter and maf cleaning. So I am in a time crunch and would like to know if there are any special tools or tech tips to do it my self. I've been inside engines before but I don't like to work that hard anymore if I don't have to. And opinions, oem Ford gaskets or are aftermarket OK?
Thanks

I guess mine do. The mechanic diagnosed it straight off and it's been fine for 3 years. Now I'm getting the same symptoms along with the p0300 code.

I wouldn't lead straight to intake gaskets again. I'd check over the COP boots and the plugs.

They have less than 35k miles on them. I pulled the easiest ones to get to and they were all still pliable with no cracks.

Did u check the springs too? Pull a plug also. It may also be a bad coil pack or 2. I'm not trying to say its the intake gaskets either, just making sure you touch all bases

Well here is what I did. New plugs, single patinums, checked all the cops, boots and springs. All the plugs were very easy to pull. I torqued them to 14# last time and 18 this time. Some of the plugs seemed to be in there finger tight. I think I might have had some corrosion on the injector/cop connectors too. On 4 cops, the spade connectors looked kinda dirty with light corrosion so I cleaned them up with a .22 bore brush and contact cleaner, aoing with all connectors getting contact cleaner and fresh dielectric grease at all connection points. It fired right up and runs real smooth with no cels. My coils and injectors have 132k miles so maybe things just got a little crusty.
Thanks for your pointers.

The only coil I disconnect from the harness is on cylinder number 5. The rest are easy enough to get at and have enough room to pull the coil/boot together without unplugging it. Constantly screwing with those connectors is just asking for plastic breakage and bad connections. A replacement pigtail is more expensive than it should be.

And then developed and injector leak. Chasing a misfire on #8 i swithched coils with #2 and then same injectors. I'm up here outside of Mammoth Lakes and get a gas odor and can see the leak. Thats pretty nerve racking. The o-ring is up there in the rail. Heres what I did. I took some miracle-sticks-to-itself-superflex-all chem resistant tape, cut it about 1/4" wide and wrapped it around the nozzle that goes into the fuel rail. It worked!! I generally hate to MM things like that but I think Im good until I get home and can replace that o-ring. I've never had a run of glitches like this before.

SMarquez, Where are you located? I have shop cd's for our truck and will be in mammoth Lakes on the fourth. I am in Roseville. I have lots of spare parts in the garage including injectors and o rings. Maybe I can help.

Thanks for your generous offer. I've been tied up with work and have been home in SoCal since your post. After I was home for a week I replaced all the o-rings and picked up a miss. I've done all the trouble shooting I can and have thrown in the towel and will be taking it to a local trusted independent shop.
