Exhaust gas very hot why

I did a bunch of work to my truck
1. Had the transmission rebuilt
2. ATS ported inlet for turbo
3. Fule line crossover
4. All new boots
5. Ceramic coated pipes
6. replaced all glow plugs

before all the work it would run about 500 degrees pulling my 5th wheel trailer 65mph on flat road now it is running at 1100 degrees . A small pass I would go over before 60 mph overdrive off about 1200 degrees now 43mph second gear and 1200 degrees.

When I take off slowly it seam fine no smoke . When I go WOT it smokes like it never has before the type of smoke that stays around for awhile. pyrometer goes right to 1200 boost in only getting 17lbs. This is not pulling anything.

What would cause the exhaust gas to run hotter?
Also seam the boost is not making as much, but I have to let my foot out of it before I am sure.
Also truck as down for a 1 year ( broke transmission) so I may not be remembering how hot it was running before. but I am sure it was not any where near to this hot.
Thanks for all your help

Boost leak... Or the wastegate or EBPV is open or closed...

If you were doing 65 mph pulling a trailer and getting 500* EGTs, there was something wrong with the gauge or probe before you did the work.

I also agree with Joe, check for boost leak.

I was thinking boost leak. I will check for that now. How do I make sure the wastegate and EBPV is working?

I just took off the air cleaner and I can see that on of the pipes are leaking would that cause the boost leak?

Should not have any leaks on the intake side, its not under pressure... If you do however it allows dirt to get in.

Did you install the O ring into the compressor housing when you swapped to the ATS housing?

Did you tighten the wastegate rod as the directions say when you installed the ATS housing?

I will pull it apart tomorrow and do as the direction say.
I am not looking forward to pulling the pipes out it was not that bad without the transmission but now it is in.

You dont need to pull the up pipes... Pull the ATS compressor housing, you should have an O ring at the Y pipe and at the backing plate... If not, there is your leak.

Joe did the new housing come with the o rings or just use the old ones?

The pipes was another project I did at the same time, and am now regretting it. The stock ones were fine.

I doubt the up pipes are your issue... Are they bellowed or just stockers coated?

I cant recall if the ATS housings come with a new O ring or not, been a long time...

Riffraff Diesel: GTP38 Compressor Housing O-ring

Riffraff Diesel: Garrett Compressor Housing Outlet O-ring 99.5-03

Those are what you need... Assuming there not in there.

The ATS housing does not come with the o-ring (or didn't when I bought mine). The o-ring does usually stay on the base plate though. Still good to check it and verify it wasn't stuck to the housing.

You may have it figured out. But... I'm with Rick, sounds like you have a screwy gauge issue to with the "before" readings you had. Just sayin.....
