The beige 56 was sitting outside of the Dennis Carpenter tent and one of the guys working the tent said it was owned by the guy that manufactures the bed parts that they sell. I think he told me his name is Dan Carpenter, but is not affiliated with Dennis Carpenter? Wonder if he would fab me up an express bed....

Yeah, that truck belongs to Dan Capenter. Story on it is they actually use it as their shop truck.
"Zeke" was his Dad's nickname and he was supposedly a remarkable welder. Hence the "Zeke's Welding Service". Here's another cool nugget....that was their actual phone number back then.
I especially love that truck since it's the style I'm going for with mine. I was hoping he would've had it at the Nats but he didn't bring it. I'd love to see it in person.

Thanks, I love the truck. I should have had the hood open. It's got a hopped up 239 with an edelbrock 3x2. 4.27 rear. I bought it in January 1978, didn't start restoring it until Feb '97. It was my first plumbing truck, we used it until 1986. Then it went into the garage for a long sleep. Dennis
