Wow,drove my brothers 6.7 today

All I can say is I loved it.. He just bought a 2011 crew cab lariat leftover. Its like driving a cadilac.I couldnt believe I was driving a truck and he says it pulls his 9500 lb camper effortlessly.I want one now. Convince me not to before I have a 600 dollar payment. That should be enough reason not to but im still thinking about it.lol.. I know it would be stupid considering I own my truck outright and it runs great.Plus I know how to work on it..On top of that I only drive my truck when I tow my camper or need to haul something so its not even my daily. im still thinking about it.Wish he never got one.. Dammit!Tell me how stupid of a mistake it would be.

That's a crazy idea. Not worth the payment if you won't be using it much. Although they are quite nice.

ZF6 would not hold up behind it...

You will never again see a manual behind a mid duty pickup... Thing of the dinosaurs

You would have to buy used, or make a massive down payment to get that.

I looked around at at few 6.7's last fall when I decided to switch from a van to a utility body. The sticker shock was so bad that the Ford dealer asked if I needed an ambulance. I said yes, a nice old one, something like a 99 F350 4X4 DRW that I can pull the body off of and turn into a service truck.

they do drive great and have lots of power but they do have there down fall, egr coolers are failing as soon as 30k and have no fix besides replace the cooler and i have heard of people getting some water in the fuel and that would be a nightmare taking the truck in for a lack of power, no start or check engine light and come to find out you got bad fuel and now its your bill, not something i would want cause you can almost buy another one of your trucks if that happens and still have the payment.

Well gents I am sold. Yep I will soon be the owner of a 2012. 3.55 6spd. I have had a 96 since its birth. Great truck but its time fo up grade. So I came across this thread by chance to night and 16yrs after my first Psd. Its time for another. I will keep the old dog after all. I know it will fire up everyday. I will have to get use to the new kid on the block. Please excuse the jump in post. I have been eyeing.them since the 7.3 went away. Waiting on the day when tbe get thier moxi back. I think they have based on the research and comaprison data. So maybe I can ride the 6.7 till 2028 at least thats my goal.

I think we will see a manual trans again but without the stick or third pedal. Computer controlled dual shaft, dual clutch is in our future.
