bearing question

I am redoing the rear brakes on my 67 f250 4x4. I removed the rear drum. My question (possibly a foolish question) is: Does the wheel bearing that comes out when you remove the drum get lubricated by the gear oil in the rearend or do I need to pack it with grease? - just to specify, this is the bearing that sits behind the two large axle spindle nuts. Thanks.

I'm sure someone with specific knowledge will be along shortly but as far as i know, all bearings except sealed bearings should be packed.

Oiled by the gear lube. Packing not necessary.

Yes they are oiled by the gear lube, BUT, if you clean them or install new ones they still need initial lubrication because the oil from the diff doesn't get out there real quick.
I like to overfill the diff a little, then jack one side up, then the other; or use a side hill and park it for a while then switch sides. That way the hubs are full of gear lube.
