Well here is what shop said they scanned it and the only code that showed up was for the ipr out of range but he said he sees that alot so was not to worried. He started it let run for over a hour restarted and drove around town and it ran fine. He said it ran great and restarted better than most he sees, his theroy is that something got hung in the ipr valve and is now clear he is going to keep it today and drive again.
Does this theroy sound plausible or am I going to wind up setting along side the road. Would you guys take a chance on it or just go ahead and replace tha ipr? Please give me your thoughts.

You can look around the IPR for tool marks or anything cleaned for inspection/adjustment. The IPR solenoid keeper nut may have come loose (not uncommon - it's pretty cheesey). I know wires can chafe in there and short the IPR or the ICP sensor. The MK I eyeball would be a good tool to use right now.

I know he did not clean it, the main thing I was wondering if what he said about something getting stuck in it is a reasonable theroy. Thanks for sticking with me on this and all your help Tugly.

Performing a search on the forum might yield a write-up I saw where somebody rebuilt an IPR. It's worth looking into.

Guys I still need your help shop had truck 4 days last week and could not get it to die they scanned it drove it let it run and nothing, picked up friday drove home fine got in sunday and it died a block from the house. It restarted drove a couple of miles to where I was going did fine. Got in it to go 3 miles home and died twice each time it restarted and I made it home. Started today and drove 13 miles to work and no problems, going back to shop they are going to look at IPR nut and see if they can get it to act up. Talking to mechenic he suggusted a grounding problem I checked all the grounds I could find, would anybody have a list of all the grounds on a 99 f350 and there locations. If it was a ground would I be able to restart it everytime? Also what grounds would effect something that is just killing the truck dead but be able to restart ? Problem starting to drive me batty

Well after 2 monthes in the shop I have the problem fixed I was lucky to find a mechanic that would not just start repalceing parts hoping to get lucky. Though trial and error the problem turned out to be the ICM put a new one on and have had no more troubles, hope this helps somebody out. Thanks for all the great help from you guys.
