Info on 1985 ford 8000
looking at an 85 Ford 8000 has the Cat diesel 3208 and a 10 speed manual, air brakes
what model of transmission would be in this truck?
also would anyone have a wild guess as to what the empty weight of this truck would be? it has a 12 foot dump box installed. trying to figure out if i could drive it with a normal license with just an air brake endoresement, but the truck would have to weigh under 11000kg (24250 lbs.) for this.
any help appretiated and if we do get this truck ill be sure to post pics and ask lots more questions

Most likely for the trans Eaton. As far as weight question you are only
allowed 26,000 under cdl and you will be lucky to carry 5 yds of gravel.
Last one I drove was somewhere around 19000 tare and 53000 gr.
I hauled 16T aspalt for years. So far I think youre only problem is a
cdl license. The only way around that is find a F8 or F900 gas job that
ways in around 12000 empty which = 26000-12000= 14000 or 7T payload.
