When I start my truck and try to put it into drive with my foot on the break peddel the shifter wont move. I was camping and I had to turn the key a little then shift it to nuteral, start the truck and then put it in drive. When I did that the ABS light was flashing on and off and I have no brake lights or blinkers when the truck is running. Does anyone know that could cause this or how to fix this. Any help would be great.............. I checked all the fuses too.

 

broken or un plugged brake light switch?

 

I looked at the switch it is plugged in. How can I check the switch to see if that's my problem. Is there any test that I can do on the switch to see if it is working .

 

it should have constant 12 v power on one pin and the 2nd pin will get power when u press the pedal

The brake switch was the problem, I changed it and all is good. Thanks for the input on this problem.
