Regen / Reduced Engine Power Light
#31
My wife went to the dealer on Thrusday. The truck was sitting outside. So I call the service provider and recap the events so far. Drop the truck off Monday evening. It sat all day Tuesday. Really busy will get to it. Wednesday. We brought it in and had another customer return his truck so we took it back out and worked on his. After my wife showed up Thursday. The tech has found several misses in the engine. Stored or real time? not sure. What about the CAC and the TSB I brought with me. We just can't do repairs we have to figure out whats going on. I will have answers Friday at 9:30am. 9am phone rings he's changing the CAC and will run the test again see if the mis go's away. Again i ask stored or real time. Well they were stored. I ask date and time we don't know. So i ask does it not make sense these were the stored codes from when I was towing my boat and it sucked the water out of the CAC and missed really bad at 70mph. He will test drive it and report back. Got a call at 12pm CAC installed updated the PCM and added something to the fuel test drove the truck no codes found now.
Would it not been simple to listen in the first place. Dealer wonder why people go to independent service providers after the warranty expires.

I have just been driving short trips this year about 10-15 miles, no towing. the Reduced engine power light with the wrench comes on at about 8 miles of driving. The engine has no turbo boost power( stays at 2 ) It does go off if I pull over, shut down and restart. This has happened in the past month. seems like it wants to go into regen and I am not giving it enough time. The engine has very little power when the light comes on.
