Jim, as far as I know we do not have any regular active members of the BS forum that live near Albany. Carl is in Fonda which is about an hour or so west of there and Brad lives north of it.

 

Evening all.... had a great day visiting with my SIL and BIL in Homer and my wife and I had a chance to play Auntie and Uncle to their 4 year old son and their almost 3 week old daughter. She is soooooo damn cute!

It was a good day. While down there, my BIL and I went over to one of my other BIL's house and gave him a hand working on his front porch. He has a 1880's house and the porch had a post that settled. We gave a hand in jacking it up, putting in a temp. support and then install some new composite decking material for the floor. He will be stripping the front skirt off the porch and it will make it easier to install the permanent post at that time.

 

Thats cool Neil. The composite decking is nice stuff. A bit pricey but worth it for the ease of care and maintenance.

 

It is a little pricey, but he got this on clearance from Lowes and was able to get a 10% military discount so that made it reasonable.

Well I survived my birthday yesterday...it was a very nice quiet day for me.

I'll be getting on a plane in a few hours headed back to SoCal...it has been a few weeks since I have been out there...but it's all good...
