What seats are these?

I saw this 56 on Craigslist and wanted to know if anyone can identify the seats in it. I asked the seller but he didn't know.

Here is the link if anyone wants to see it.

Those appear to be full size GM truck/Suburban seats. A guy gave me a pair for my truck, with heat, 10,000 way power, leather, the works. But they're really too big to fit good in the Bonus Built trucks. In a 56, I can see where they'd be fine.

Could be from an Escalade (still GM family) since they're in leather.

Thanks! I am considering seats like this because of the seat belt in the top of the seat. It would save having to modify the cab to bolt the seat belt to the pillar.

The shoulder belt likely bolts to the floor with a retractor. The gov would not let them be bolted just to the seat frame. Those are good looking seats.

True fact, the late-model GM seats use the seat frame to anchor the seat belts. Obviously the seat-to-floor bolts are upgraded and the floor pan is significantly reinforced.

So this gets me to wondering if the design requirements for the seat belt restraint in cars with air bags is less or lighter than cars without?

Could be that, or GM may have beefed up the design of their seat to meet the tests. Got to admit it makes the floor cleaner and the belts less obvious. The belt exiting where it does also makes it more effective more like 1/2 a racing harness.

I was told in an accident reconstruction school that GM started doing it to help prevent ejections in roll over accidents. The sad thing about non seat mounted shoulder belts is they are ineffective if you lean your seat back further than 40 degrees from straight up. Anything past that and in a roll over or rear end collision and you will most likely break your back or get pulled out of your seat and possibly ejected.

Seats look the same as the ones I had in a 2001 Chevrolet 2500 LT crew cab. Search on 2001 Chevrolet Silverado Interior pulled up this:

http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_...0007_large.jpg

From Auto Trader....2004 extended cab.

These seats are not comfortable for taller folks. I'm 6'-2" and the seat bottoms provided very little leg support. I sold mine for that reason (plus poor mileage from the 8.1 Vortec) and opted for an Excursion with a 7.3 Powerstroke.

My brother-in-law has a 2004 Chevy Silverado 1500 extended cab and the front seats have the built in seatbelts. The seats are comfortable and I like having the seatbelt inside the seat.
