Truck in the shop

Well from my previous thread of having white smoke during start up and until warmed up, and the loss of coolent before starting after cold soak.

Today took it my local FMC service center, were hopefully I'll get the truck back Thursday or Friday, the sooner the better, and by what my service department head told me, getting work done ain't the problem, the only problem will be dealing with CarMax warrenty company.

Hopefully my diagnosis of either a cracked EGR cooler or oil cooler was right and they can get the work done fast if that was the main problem, I even printed out my excel spreadsheet with all the service I have completed and left in my truck and the service manger saw it and kept it in the truck.

Has anyone who bought a vehicle from CarMax and used there warrenty progam have any issues dealing with there warrenty, I might talk to FMC and see if I can get my warrenty switched from CarMax to a FMC warrenty.

Well just a update from my FMC, there mechanics diagnosied it as the oil cooler, they spoke with CarMax (which I have the truck under warrenty), well I will still have to pay the $300 deductible but I might have to pay another $100 to $150, but as my FMC service head told me since the truck is a diesel and it might take a little longer CarMax would only pay for just about all unless it surpasses a certain amount of time. The service head told me they I might not have to pay the extra amount depending on how fast his mechanic gets things done.

I'm really thinking of talking with Ford and seeing if I can get warrenty under there plans and get away from CarMax warrenty.

Hopefully since they are chaning the oil cooler they will also change the EGR cooler, which by what I've read when you change the oil cooler you should also change the EGR cooler.

Well can't wait until tomorrow when I get my truck back.
