whining noise

hi guys i just purchased an 01 supercrew the other day and it has like a poersteering whining noise to it. today i went out and replaced the power steering pump and it still making thr whining noise any ideas what it could be ? the steering is nice and solid no excessive play or anything. i have noticed in the resevoir bottle at idle the fluid is splashing around in their should it be doing that or is their some sort of pressure sensor someplace acting up?

Does it get louder or change pitch when turning the wheel?

If only at idle, might be related to EGR / vacuum / PCV valve... etc

Check your idler and tensioner pulleys on the belt. I had the same problem on my 03 when I got it. Changed the power steering pump and was still there! Turned out to be the bearings shot on the tensioner pulley. Stand right over the tensioner puller and then give it alittle gas. It will make a little higher squeel then go to a constant squeel if it is that. Good luck
