49 F1 Build Update

Not a lot to photograph although progress has been made. The frame has been blasted and painted. It has new brake shoes and wheel cylinders and a few related parts. New shocks. I have cut, welded and patched several rusted out places on the cab and fenders. I repaired 51 small holes in the firewall. I don't have a clue why they are there.

One good thing I found is that at some point somone undercoated the truck. It did a pretty good job for a long time but now is comming off which is a good thing since I plan on removing all of it. That's about it I think although I know as soon as I submit this post I will think of some other things.

Undercoating is ridiculous. The PO of my 52 undercoated almost everything, including inside the hood. Now that stuff is flaking off and falling on top of the freshly rebuilt engine. One of these days I'll remove all of it. The good news is that the Meadow Green paint underneath the undercoating is very well preserved.

You only had 51 holes? Seems like a hundred in mine...lol. When I open up the garage door then look from the inside of the cab it reminds me of the sky at night with all the holes.
