The lever now moves nice and easy and the engaging is positive.
Glad to hear everything went well!!!!

Life cicle END, I meant, anyway, thanks a lot!. Once I inspected the new cable closely it was very clear what was the proper way to deal with it. Before your post I was afraid I would break the new one (with all that plastic crap they have everywhere... Intimidating). I don't have much luck with plastic parts, specially in the truck.

I just went through the same situation...one car household, so I gambled that it was the 150.00 cable and I bought it. Parts guy cautioned me that it might be the neutral safety switch, and he could not take back the cable if I tore the bag open. So I bought the 65.00 switch just in case, so I would have everything and not be stuck...returned the switch

I sure hope you're kidding about the cable price!!! I have the invoice here in front of me from Feb 23 , 2012..... List price was $96.78.... my cost was $53.11 tax and all... And that is from a Lincoln Dealership at that!

Mine costed the equivalent to $36.7 to the real US/BsF exchange. to the fictitious exchange rate it would have been around $80.

Yea, it all depends on which cable is required, as you can see each cable is priced differently. For some reason the AOD/C6 cable costs a lot more. I needed the expensive one, the bottom one in the pic...just my luck bought it from the local Ford dealer in the Hampton's, he charged me list price

I'd be willing to bet there isn't 10 cents worth of difference in the cost to manufacture the one for the C-6 and the one for the E4OD, but they burn the bottom out of your pockets every chance they get!!!!

Ok,, rant over!!!

I looked the one I got up on finditparts and they a much higher than my dealer.. @$48.39 + tax....

</td> <td class="price"> $71.07 </td> <td class="qualifies">

</td> </tr></tbody></table>

Ok my luck had to be this way... my turning signals work, but now the winshield wipers don't. I took the cover from the dash and the steering column and both the connectors that go into that lever seem alright. What else should/could I check?. Neither the wipers nor the sprinkler work, so it has to be something in or around the column, and related to the shifter linkage repair... Any ideas? what else can I try? where should I be looking?.

Already checked, and tried a similar one anyway to see if there were any changes.. no... It has to be a wiring issue. I guess i'll have to take a closer look at the connector.

Well I would start by unplugging it, and then use a multimeter to check for power to the plug

I wonder if Mr. Subford could add anything to this, he probably knows exactly which wires should I be checking in that connector. I haven't had any time to solve this yet. But Winter is coming... Er... I mean, Weekend!.
