I have torn down lots of motors and I see what optilube does. Its not made for new low sulfur Diesel fuel.

Maybe Optilube is okay back east but in california the fuel is very low sulfur and it cuase problems with egr valves, pistons injectors.

What kind of mileage benefit are you guys seeing with the cetane enhancers, any appreciable? If so are you buying generic fuel or sticking to brand name fuels?

Lubriticity would be the same. But 23 you would be making like a winter fuel. Less performance.

1st I would say buy fuel at a place that moves a ton of fuel. Large truck stops.

As for mileage increase maybe a tad. Think of it as like adding premium gas to a gas burner. Cetane booster makes it burn better.

I really don't keep track of mileage very much but it does seem like it has ticked up slightly (I think) I try to use BP. Have been successful expect on long trips. Put in a few Pilot stops on those trips.....................So yes, brand name...

difference between pm22 and pm23 is 23 has anti gel properties for winter conditions. both add lubricitiy to the fuel. i add pm22a every other fill or so. not OCD about, like the other things i am. like water spots and bugs and installs and....

Not to be a pain but since I useing this I am interested in more information. What are you seeing that it is doing to the engine?

Has anyone else heard of any issues like this?

I use Ford's pm-22, not because I think it's better then anything else, I wouldn't know as I haven't looked into it... but because if I have a fuel related problem I can say I went the extra mile to maintain my fuel system, using their recommendations, and I doubt they'd ever try and blame the Ford additive for causing it, like they might try to do for another additive, nor would they try and blame it on poor lubricity, as that would essentially be admitting both their additive and maintenance recommendations are flawed.
