HELP... Strange Issue?? Coincidence?

I had a strange thing happen Saturday. I drove my 91 F150 4X4 4spd 300-6, pulled into a parking space. Turned the truck off and when I took my foot off the clutch, I noticed it didn't come back up. I then thought, I would start the truck up to roll up the windows and make sure it didn't come back up (not that it should matter). When I tried to start the truck, in neutral, it turned slowly and wouldn't start. When I tried again, nothing. The lights on the dash would not even come on. I got out and seen that fluid had leaked out from under the truck. Normally my truck will start without pressing the clutch in, when in neutral...

I believe a hose or something busted, with the cylinder for the clutch. Something happened to let the fluid out, that I can deal with.... Read on...

My question is, could this have anything to do with the electrical issue? After I had it towed home I was able to mess around putting the key in, popped the hood, slammed the door a few times and got the dash lights to come on, w key at access. and rolled the windows up. When I then tried to start, it clicked and went dead again. Not even the interior light comes on when the door is opened? Nor power locks, nothing. I'm not sure how the trucks are supposed to be, but mine has always started without pushing in the clutch if the trucks in neutral. (at;east since I have owned it)

Does anyone have any idea if these could be related? Seems like a short to me maybe since when I kept trying I got the lights to come on and window up? Is this a coincidence? If so where do I start beyond cleaning the battery terminals?

Thanks, Clay

I know my 89 F250 HAD a neutral safety switch that made it so the clutch had to be pushed ALL the way to the floor to start the truck. I have since disconnected that and put in a mechanical clutch. Anyway, where did the fluid leak from exactly? Your problem could be that the hydraulic fluid bled out onto a connection of some sort.
