1995 Ford F-250 XLT 460 Engine

Hi guys!

Find a 1995 Ford F-250 XLT,4X4,114k,460 engine,super (extended) cab,long bed.
The truck is in good condition (need to change soon front tires).
The seller selling it for $5,000.
What do you think?

And to be honest I know nothing about 460 engine.
How good and reliable this engine?
Any MPG numbers?
Any pros/cons etc.

Need your advice ASAP!

Thank you.

the 460 is a good motor, mpg depending on gearing maybe 10 to 13 mpg loaded or empty. sounds like the seller is awful proud of it though. depending on 4x4 or 4x2 and condition around theese parts they go for 1000 to 4000

Looks like a clean truck. Not a bad price if it was here in SWPA.

Diesel_Brad,fdude64,Turx - Thank you guys!

Seems like it is price about right, sounds good.

One thing thats I really don't like is the front tires needs to be replaced pretty soon.

Ant the price on 35 is not so cheap.

But overall nice truck!

looks pretty nice.

Why do the front tires need to be changed? Are they worn on one side or the other? If so that is an alignment issue that needs to be fixed or is signs of worn ball joint that need to be changed

The tread depth is pretty bad on front tires compared to rear.

Worn down evenly across the width of the tire, or on one side? Any feathering/sawtooth on the edges? I'm wondering if it may need some front suspension work, or just an alignment (or were those tires previously on the rear?).

EDIT: sorry, I duplicated the questions of Diesel Brad above!

And has the auto trans been rebuilt yet? That's the biggest reason that I got a 5-speed manual in my truck - I didn't want the potential additional cost of an automatic rebuild (although I do have to replace a worn bearing in mine, but I can do that job myself with confidence). How does the transmission fluid look and smell?

I'd say that the price is a bit high for a gasser in my area (right now it seems that everybody wants the diesels for fuel economy reasons, esp. in the older trucks); if it was a Powerstroke it would be a steal however!

Thank you all guys.
Well the seller rise the price to $5,500.
He said he changed the Air Condition and the front tires.
But the price is still high for me,maybe $5,000 but not more.
I think I will pass this deal.
