ford Expedition

hey wanted to ask my fellow kentucky members what they think of the 1st gen ford expedition? I have a bunch of kids at my house at all times and instead of a mini van my wife and i came to a compromise on a fullsize suv... i like the expedtion because they have third row seating that is removeable as well as i can still haul stuff. also i have seen many of them on craigslist in the $2500 price range which what my budget will alow...so what's yalls thoughts?

I honestly am not familiar with the first generation Expeditions. But, if they are anything like their counterpart trucks, I'd say they are certainly worth looking at. What years did they make these trucks? What engines were available?

the expedition which was the replacement for the bronco came out in 1997 and the first generation ran upto 2002. they were equipped with either a 4.6 sohc or the 5.4 sohc...from what i can tell they are reliable and dependable as well as capable.....

Beware the 5.4 a lot of them had spark plug issues. the 4.6 is a decent motor but there wont be too much oomph in a full size if you got it loaded down.
