76 SWB 2wd build

It has been a while since I have been on so I figured I would post some pics of my F100 build...
I started with a 1976 custom 300ci mated to a C4 with no options (manual steering, brakes, etc.)

Uh oh!!! I bet none of you have ever seen this before:

Prep work

The body was pretty solid except for the floorboards. I had to have the pass door skinned because of a dent... A few dings here and there, nothing major. A friend of mine is doing most of the work in his shop - the truck sat in my yard for 12 years and I have had 3 kids since then... I figured the only way it would get done before I retire was to enlist some help

Engine

For the motor, I ended up getting a 1995 351w roller motor from a Bronco. I took it all apart and checked it out, I was told it only had 30k miles on it when the Bronco was totaled. That looked to be true. Just had to hone it and put some new pistons in. I also changed the cam while I was in there.

Here is what it looked like when I picked it up:

The guy I picked it up from was going to use it in a Bronco he was restoring so it already had a carb intake - bonus for me!

Looking a bit better I'd say!

Tranny

For the transmission I ended up getting a world class T5 from a 92 Mustang for $75. I had the gears beefed when it was rebuilt. I also had to get a spacer for it so it would fit as you can see in the pics...

Currently...

Some paint is on some of the body. I ended up going with a metallic dark green. I looks much better in the sun (I will get some pics later and post).
A summary of what I have changed on the truck:
- Went from a 300ci\C4 to a 351w roller motor with a WC T5
- Added air conditioning from a 1977 donor
- Power steering
- Power brakes
- Tilt wheel
- Changed color from baby blue to emerald green

I am hoping to have it on the road before summer's end! I am currently working out some dents on my grill shell.

New rims!

I picked these (15" x 8.5") up today for $100 of craigslist for my project! They are in good shape and should clean up nice... From what I could tell these are A-Team Cyclone ii wheels. I have heard them called turbine, western and fins but whatever they are called I like them

Looking good! My '76 SWB was the same color green after a repaint and had the Explorer pkg stripes (white) on the hood and down the sides. It was a very popular pickup back in the day

What is the name & brand for that color? I like it. My 77 was dark forest green with the white center and I want to do a dark green & either charcoal or gun metal grey in the center when I finish the body work & repaint it

Thanks guys, I have always liked dark green and I really liked this color when I saw it. The paint is called emerald fire and it is off of a Jaguar (2009-2010 I believe). It looks good in the sun, I will take some shots of some pieces (hood, doors, tailgate) outside and post them soon.

Did the spacer go in to raise the back of the trans? Yours looks to sit higher than mine. I used a1 inch spacer to raise the back of mine.
