Canadian east coaster searching for a `79 Ford pickup

Hi folks, hope you`re all doing well.

I am from the lower north shore of Quebec, pretty close to Labrador and just across the straits from Newfoundland island and I`m starting to look around for a copy of my first pickup truck from way back when.

I had this old Ford when I was 16 years old, and I`ve been keeping an eye out for another one ever since.

My truck was a black single cab `79 Ford F-100 Custom with red interior. Long box, 300 inline 6, automatic transmission, 2 wheel drive.

I don`t expect to find one anytime in the near future, but I was hoping I could get the word out on this site and perhaps I could find one in really great shape at some point in the next few years.

I basically want a stock truck pretty much the way it came from the factory, meaning I don`t want one that has been all jacked up with huge tires and a whole bunch of aftermarket stuff that changes the truck too much. Just a good old `79 Ford is good enough for me!

I haven`t even really considered a price range. I`m just thinking that I won`t mind paying top dollar for a really good one when the right one comes along. Same goes for the shipping!

Thanks a lot you guys! I`m looking forward to your responses!

Darcy

Hey Darcy,
That seems like a tall order! I really like the classic black & red. I guess you have a better chance finding an unmolested one in 2wd, seems like here in Florida if it's 4wd it's headed for mud! Good luck with your search, if i find two I will let you know Tony

Welcome Darcy!!
Too bad you're so far away. Thinkin' on selling my 79 F250. Ranger Lariat. Camper Special.
Big honkin' 460 and a c6. 99,000 original km's. I'm second owner.
At 10 mpg it would burn up 1500 bucks in fuel to get to your coast. LOL!!!
Look around on craigslist, kijiji or autotrader and you'll find one closer.
Here's a pic of my old wreck!!!

Ah ya, that's a nice old one there! If it wasn't for that big ol' motor and the distance between us... Thanks for sharing, and thanks for the ideas!
