Body lift for Banks Turbo Install

I am about to bend the firewall lift for my banks sidewinder install and was thinking that a body lift might be a better option. I just cannot see how that uppipe, downpipe and turbo will all fit back there. Has anyone done a body lift for this reason or is this just not worth it?

My truck is a 1989 F-250 extended cab long bed 4x4 with the zf5 trans

Is there a kit that will work for this truck? - one that includes something to lengthen the steering shaft, bumper drop brackets and something for the radiator fan shroud?

What size lift would get me the clearance I need - 4 inches?

Thanks

I wouldnt go with a 3" let alone a 4" body lift.. not safe. The turbo kit will fit assuming it is the right one for your model pickup, thats how they were designed.

it fits fine.
just bend up the lip and you will be set.
also, put the down pipe in first. it is a biatch to get it in place after the turbo is mounted.

Exclamation so tight,it appears impossible at first.........

if you can't see how the dp will have enough room, then your up pipe (turbo pedestal) foot,is probably not yet sitting on the engine block.
it's a bit of a job tweaking the foot up on the engine.so if you just just it up in there, then have another look.you'll find she has a ways to go yet.make sure that's up/forward in place, and things look much more open.....after you bent the lip and got the big hammer out if your wrapping both pipes lol.

i have found that with the pedestal and turbo mounted, it is very hard to wiggle the down pipe in.

but with the down pipe sort of in place before the pedestal and turbo are mounted, it bolts rite up.

that's something i wished i had read earlier.that's a massive time and cus word saver tip right there tjc lol.
it might be kinda aggravating with that kind of slopping around in there on ya,when trying to fit the pedestal in but that would be handy....................hey wait a sec though,i recall having hardly enough room to fit that up in because it had to go up and turn at the same time.that sounds kind of challenging actually.but i dunno of course cus i didn't think to try.

what i did was put it up in place and wired it up to the AC lines. then pushed it as close to the ac box as i could. i had the turbo pre mounted to the pedestal.
then set it in place and caught one bolt, and wiggled it around to get the rest started. make sure the oil return in in the grommet, and bolt her down. then cut the wire and bolt the downpipe on.
it is still a biatch, but having the pipe in there makes it A LOT easier.
