I have a 2005 f250 4x4 6.0 Diesel only 48,300 miles, all stock engine, no mods other than tires, wheels etc. Problem: Engine cranked but would not start till third try a week ago. Twice in last week, when accelerating very hesitant and then boom, power. Especially when drviving slow. Last night, going slow would not accelerate, then kicks in and too much acceleration. Slowed way down to pull in a drive and no power, engine idled but would not move. No response from gas pedal. Shut off engine, would not retstart, just cranked. Buddy told me to disconnect batteries and wait 5 minutes and reconnect. I did and now its perfect again?? Please help. I am afraid this will happen when far from home or it won't do it when a service tech checks it. Is it electrical, injectors? I am far from a mechanic and need your advice. Thanks in advance.
