I was at a car show in Rockingham, the local truck club I've been in for 3 or 4 years convoyed out there. Had more fun during the driving than the actual show though.

I'm thinking about making another Gumbo at our camping trip, but I'm having a hard time finding the same mix. So now when I go to a grocery store over I have my eye's out for it.

Bob, I have difficulty finding any type of Gumbo Mix. The only place I know to get it is Walmart.

 

That's where I've been getting it for years. They have the Jambalaya mix, but no Gumbo.

 

Make you a roux and then have completely homemade gumbo!

 

Really hate I missed the show.

October Dinner will be at the fall fling in Uwharrie on October 15th. See fall fling thread for details.

Starting in November we will start keeping dinners more local during the cooler weather and upcoming holidays.

 

Can anyone make Saturday November 19th? Around 4-5pmish.The wife and I would like to host a dinner for the chapter. It's the only weekend we have open in November.

I have a grill and broiler/boiler. Anyone is welcome to bring their smoker.

Certainly folks can show up any time during the day. But planning on an early dinner.

We can light stuff on fire in the burn pit.

BB guns are welcome and encouraged.

If not we'll try again in December and just do a regular week night local dinner.

Kids and family are certainly welcome. I have a few skateboards laying around. A basket ball goal and plenty of yard to run around.

The format will be similar to the one at Josh's. Everyone brings a side or dessert. We'll provide a main course. Probably pork BBQ. I'll attempt to smoke or cook something. And anyone is welcome to cook or smoke something as well.

 

I am 90% sure I can make it.
