Correct wheels for 68 F250 C/S

I need info on the correct 16" wheel size for my 1968 F250 Ranger Camper Special. A previous owner replaced the original wheels with 8 lug 15" wheels & tires. I have some 8 lug 17" Dodge wheels, but too much back space and the tires rub the suspension. What was the original offset/back spacing & wheel width?

Thanks!

Typically, zero backspacing and no more than an 8-inch wide wheel.

If you've got the moolah, consider installing spacers so ya can use them Doodge wheels. Around $90 a pair IIRC... justifiable if them wheels are wearing decent tires.

You truck probably came with 6" wide split rims. I'd just find some one piece 16x7 from a late 80s-97 F-250.

Around here you can pick up stock 16X8 rims/wheels for about $50 a pop at any of the boneyards...$30-$35 is about right IMO but I'm an old stingy fart and all the boneyards are in league and charge the same price no which yard you go to. Not long ago I picked up two stock 16X8 8-lug F350 wheels for $30, including two raggedy tires, from a guy off of Craigslist...just gotta keep your eyes peeled.

16x8? How are you measuring the width?
